What is vitamin D?

Modified on Mon, 3 Apr, 2023 at 6:41 PM

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that has many crucial roles in the body, including bone formation and maintenance and immune function. Research shows that it also plays a role in lowering inflammation. Vitamin D forms in the body when your skin absorbs sunlight and is found in natural and fortified food sources. Low intake of vitamin D may lead to a vitamin D deficiency.
